Fennec Will Registry has been designed to help individuals, agents, administrators and executors locate records of where someone’s Will has been stored.
When a loved one passes away, finding their Will can add anxiety and confusion during a difficult time. Frequently, a loved one’s Will cannot be located, causing their estate to be administered according to Law, rather than their last wishes.
Fennec Will Registry is a central database where the location of someone’s Will can be found, be that in their home, with their broker/attorney or their chosen bank – to name a few locations. This system ensure that loved one’s Will can be located, and their estate can be administered in accordance with their last wishes.
For appointed executors or agents, it is critical to ensure that they administer the estate in accordance with the last Will and testament of the deceased to avoid future complications. Doing a database search to confirm the validity and recency of the Will should be step one in the administration process, and the Fennec Will Registry provides that service.
Simply type in your loved one or client’s ID number in the search bar and we will tell you where their Will is located and who to contact to gain access to the Will.
On the Home Page you will see a search bar in the centre of the page. Simply type in the ID number of the person whose Will you would like to locate and press “SEARCH”. The WillRegistry system will search through our database and find out where the Will you are looking for is located, and who to contact regarding the Will.
When the search results indicate where the Will is located, it also provides you with information on how to contact the relevant parties. You can use these details to reach out to the listed person or company for information regarding the next steps that need to be taken.
No, when you receive a result of ‘No Will Found’ it does not necessarily mean that that individual does not have a Will. It simply means that the Will is not associated with one of our partners or linked to the WillRegistry platform – you will need to take other steps in order to locate the Will.
The WillRegistry system works on ID numbers in order to protect the privacy of those whose Wills are stored on the system. We recommend that you find the individuals ID number and try again.
In the top menu you will see a button that says, “GET STARTED”. Simply click on this button and load the details of your Will and where it has been stored, it will then appear on the system if someone searches your ID number.
If you for your personal records would like to store a copy of your Will on the system, you will need to register and create a profile on the platform. Click on the “Register” button at the top left-hand corner and follow the steps. Note that in compliance with privacy regulations your Will will never be accessible to anyone searching for its record on the platform – only it’s location will show and only you will have access.
